WHAT IS A READY-TO-MOVE HOME?
A ready to move home is a home built in a controlled factory setting, (MVI has the largest facility in Southern Alberta) so as to take advantage of the skilled trades and increased efficiency of a factory setting, and then moved to the location via Truck, and then craned into its foundation.
Size is considered in the RTM as to whether to use Modular construction. That is if the house is too large or tall, we can build the home in two to three pieces and then permanently attached those pieces on site once the home has been moved into the location.
RTM home is not a Mobile homes. Mobile homes are mass-produced. a limited number of floor plans and finishing options available. The materials used are usually not the same as those used in a stick-built or Ready-To-Move home, and they are not considered “real Property”An RTM is moved on site, but becomes a permanent structure on a foundation like any other home.
